It is strong, slippery and resists impact and fatigue, so it is often a more economical and easier-to-machine choice than metal for precision parts.

- Black acetal homopolymer (this rod) – homopolymer grade is generally used for more mechanical and strength-led applications.
- Black acetal copolymer rod – the copolymer grade works best in chemical applications; 50mm to 220mm.

Q: What is the difference between acetal homopolymer and copolymer?
A: Both are engineering plastics used for precision parts that need high stiffness, low friction and excellent dimensional stability, and they are very similar. Homopolymer is generally used for more mechanical/strength applications; copolymer works best in chemical applications.
Q: Is this rod suitable for food use?
A: It is not a suitable choice for food storage, as acetal is easily attacked by acidic foods. For food-contact work please get a quote and tell us your application.
Q: What sizes are available?
A: 16mm, 20mm and 45mm diameter in 500mm, 1000mm, 1500mm and 3000mm lengths; 50mm, 60mm, 70mm, 75mm and 80mm diameter in 250mm, 500mm, 1000mm, 1500mm and 3000mm lengths.
