Description
Crystal-clear extruded acrylic (PMMA) rod in 16 diameters from 2mm to 40mm, supplied in 2000mm (2 metre) lengths. Glass-like clarity at half the weight of glass and many times stronger – the go-to clear rod for displays, light guides, signage, model making, crafts and interior features.

Working With Extruded Acrylic Rod
- Cutting: use a fine-toothed saw, support the rod well and cut slowly to avoid chipping.
- Finishing: wet-sand cut ends with fine abrasive paper, then polish or flame-polish for a clear edge.
- Bonding: use a solvent cement or acrylic adhesive for clear, strong joints.
- Bending: heat gently and evenly with a heat gun or strip heater.
- Machining: extruded acrylic is not recommended for turning or heavy machining – it can stress-crack. For machined parts, choose cast acrylic rod.

Is this the same as Perspex®?
Perspex® is a brand name for acrylic (PMMA). This rod is the same type of material – clear acrylic – from a quality UK stockist. Perspex® is a registered trademark of its respective owner.
Can I machine it?
Light drilling and cutting are fine, but extruded acrylic is not recommended for turning on a lathe or heavy machining. Contact us for cast acrylic rod if you need to machine parts.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, acrylic has good UV and weather resistance, especially in sheltered locations.
How is it delivered?
Rods are delivered in full 2 metre lengths, packed to protect them from scratches.
