Description

RG1000 is a recycled ultra high molecular weight polyethylene sheet, ideal for various industrial uses. It offers excellent abrasion resistance and low moisture absorption.

Material Composition

RG1000 Sheet is made from ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) with recycled material, providing an economical alternative to virgin grades while maintaining similar performance characteristics.

Mechanical and Thermal Properties

This sheet has a tensile strength of 22 MPa and a Shore D hardness. It can withstand service temperatures up to 80°C for long-term use, with a short-term maximum of 90°C and a melting point around 135°C. Its thermal conductivity is measured at 0.43 W/(K*m).

Advantages and Disadvantages

RG1000 is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic, featuring low moisture absorption and a very low coefficient of friction. It is self-lubricating and highly resistant to abrasion, water, moisture, and most chemicals. However, it is not FDA approved and is unsuitable for high tensile applications or food contact.

Applications and Use Cases

This sheet is commonly used for lining chutes, hoppers, slide-ways, and wear blocks in aggressive environments. Its low moisture absorption makes it suitable for marine applications. However, it is not recommended for food or medical applications.

Machining and Fabrication

RG1000 can be machined into various shapes and parts, from small gears to large sprockets. It is easier to machine than metals and offers cost-effective solutions for many engineering applications.
