Where These Are Used

🥩 Abattoirs & Meat Processing Facilities

The number-one application for solid black PVC strip curtains. Creates complete visual separation between stunning areas, slaughter floors, and processing zones — meeting UK animal welfare legislation and hygiene requirements. The 430-grade stainless steel rail is fully washdown-safe. Individual strips can be removed in seconds for cleaning without dismantling the rail. Used by meat processors, poultry plants, and game dealers throughout the UK.

❄️ Cold Stores, Blast Freezers & Walk-In Refrigeration

Solid black strips dramatically reduce cold air loss through doorways compared to an open access point. The additional material density versus clear strips provides enhanced thermal retention — measurably reducing energy costs in refrigerated environments. The opaque black also prevents light ingress into light-sensitive or controlled-atmosphere storage.

📷 Dark Rooms, Photography Studios & Printing

Total light elimination at doorways — the 100% opaque black PVC prevents any light bleed into dark rooms, photographic studios, film processing areas, or UV-sensitive printing environments. Professional studios across the UK rely on black PVC strip curtains as the most practical and cost-effective dark room doorway solution.

🏭 Industrial Warehouses & Production Facilities

Create defined, screened zones within large open spaces without permanent construction. Separate noisy production areas from quiet offices, dust-generating processes from clean zones, or restricted access areas from general warehouse. Solid black strips provide better noise attenuation than clear alternatives — measurably reducing sound transmission between zones.

🔒 Security, Privacy & Restricted Access

Completely eliminates sightlines into stockrooms, server rooms, secure storage, and staff-only areas. Used in retail, hospitality, healthcare, and commercial settings where visual privacy is essential but a solid door would impede workflow.

🌡️ Temperature-Controlled Environments

Pharmaceutical cold chains, laboratory environments, food service kitchens, and any workspace requiring separation of temperature zones without a solid barrier. Black strips are frequently specified for their superior thermal performance versus clear or ribbed alternatives.

About the Hook-On Rail System

The hook-on format is the industry-standard PVC strip curtain mounting system, preferred by facilities managers and installers across the UK. The 430-grade stainless steel rail is corrosion-resistant, fully washdown-safe, and compliant with food-production and hygiene-critical environments.

Each PVC strip is factory-fitted with a metal plate hook set. Strips simply hook on or off the rail — no tools, no disassembly. This makes individual strip replacement and routine cleaning fast and straightforward. The rail can be face-mounted, underside-mounted (below a lintel), or recess-mounted to suit your doorway.
