Description

RG1000 is a recycled Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene sheet. Ideal for lining and wear applications in non-FDA environments.

Material Composition

RG1000 is made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) with recycled material. This engineering plastic is designed for durability and performance in various applications.

Mechanical and Thermal Properties

The sheet has a tensile strength of 22 MPa and a Shore D hardness. It can withstand service temperatures of up to 80°C, with a short-term maximum of 120°C and a melting point around 135°C. Its thermal conductivity is 0.43 W/(K*m).

Advantages and Disadvantages

RG1000 is odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic, offering excellent abrasion resistance and low moisture absorption. However, it is not suitable for high tensile applications and lacks FDA approval for food contact.

Applications and Uses

Commonly used for lining chutes, hoppers, slide-ways, and wear blocks in aggressive environments. It is also effective in marine applications due to its low moisture absorption.

Machining and Bonding Characteristics

RG1000 can be machined into various shapes but requires high-speed steel tooling. Bonding is challenging due to its low water absorption properties.
