Description

Polypropylene Natural Plastic Sheet (PPH Homopolymer) – Lightweight, Strong & Food Compliant

Our Polypropylene Natural Plastic Sheets are manufactured from homopolymer-grade polypropylene (PPH), offering light weight, chemical resistance, and high rigidity at elevated temperatures. With low water absorption, excellent weldability, and food compliance, PPH sheets are widely used in industrial, chemical, and medical applications.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Thickness Range: 10mm to 20mm

  • Lightweight (SG 0.91): Floats on water and easy to handle

  • High Rigidity & Strength: Maintains stiffness at higher operating temperatures (0°C to +100°C)

  • Chemical & Acid Resistance: Resistant to sulphuric acid, alkalis, and many corrosive solutions

  • Food Compliant: Approved for use in food-contact applications

  • Excellent Weldability: Ideal for fabrication of tanks, linings, and custom components

  • Low Moisture Absorption: Retains stability even in wet environments

  • Corrosion Resistant: Suitable for harsh chemical and water-handling applications

Applications

  • Acid and chemical tanks

  • Industrial chopping boards

  • Medical and laboratory equipment

  • Water applications and storage tanks

  • Cladding and protective covers

  • Prosthetic and fabricated components

Grades Explained

  • Homopolymer (PPH): Pure polypropylene, offering higher stiffness and higher working temperature.

  • Copolymer (PPC): Blended with HDPE for improved impact resistance and flexibility (not included in this sheet listing).

Advantages of Polypropylene Sheets

✔ Excellent acid and chemical resistance
✔ Lightweight and cost-effective (lowest-priced engineering plastic)
✔ High impact resistance and durability
✔ Food safe and easy to weld or fabricate

Limitations

  • Fire Resistance: HB rating; flammable and prone to dripping when burning

  • Machining: More difficult due to low melting point (130°C); requires care during cutting or drilling

  • Bonding: Adhesive bonding is limited; welding is recommended for fabrication

  • Colour Availability: Homopolymer sheets typically only supplied in natural or beige
