Description
Description
This high-performance pultruded carbon fibre hexagonal tube is manufactured to tight tolerances using high strength carbon fibre and an epoxy resin matrix. Unlike round tubes, hexagonal tubes are uniquely suited to applications where other components are to be attached during assembly, as their flat sides provide an excellent surface for binding or mounting other parts.
Pultrusion is a manufacturing method that produces continuous lengths of fibre-reinforced sections by pulling continuous strands of carbon fibre through resin and a former before curing the resin in a single process. Pultruded tubes feature 100% longitudinal fibre orientation, which provides excellent strength along their length, but makes them vulnerable to crushing forces. For applications where crushing or non-uniform forces are experienced, roll-wrapped carbon fibre tubes should be considered as an alternative.
Typical applications include radio-controlled models, electronics, UAVs, robotics, engineering, and automation. For requirements of machined or finished carbon fibre components, further information is available upon request.

FAQ
- What is the benefit of using a hexagonal tube? Hexagonal tubes provide flat surfaces for binding or mounting other components, making assembly easier.
- Are pultruded tubes suitable for high-pressure applications? Pultruded tubes may not be ideal for high-pressure applications due to their vulnerability to crushing forces.
- Can these tubes be machined? Yes, machined or finished carbon fibre components can be requested for specific needs.
